Louisa Remedios

Louisa Remedios, an experienced educator and qualitative researcher is the Discipline lead (Physiotherapy) at Federation University. Her previous role was as a Teaching Scholar and a Director of Teaching and Learning at the University of Melbourne where she led the development and implementation of multiple tertiary education programs, including the first three-year AQF9E Doctor of Physiotherapy program in Australia, and two successful, fully online, interprofessional and international Masters programs.

She has been on multiple professional committees, including working on the World Confederation for Physical Therapy’s Education Policy and Guidelines Expert Working Group, the Australian Physiotherapy Council’s Assessment Committee, and the Australian College of Physiotherapy’s Standing Fellowship Committee. She is an Associate Editor for the Focus on Health Professional Education Journal and is the Special Editor for the horizonal theme of Respectful Inclusion, Diversity and Belonging.

Louisa’s research interests are on learning in novel cultures and in Sustainability for Health Education (SHE). She has published widely and has presented extensively at national and international conferences on best practice in physiotherapy education.
